Lady Gaga Gets Her Own Official Holiday in Taiwan

We've all heard of Valentine's Day, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Friendship Day, and now if you live in Taiwan, you can also celebrate a Lady Gaga Day!!

Government officials in Taiwan have declared July 3rd as Lady Gaga Day in honour of the singer, and will be funding various events taking place that day.

Taichung Mayor Jason Hu says, "Lady Gaga is coming to town to celebrate with us. During the event, I will represent our city in bestowing upon her the keys to the city. The streets of Taichung will be decorated with flags featuring the pop star's photograph, and a creativity contest will be held for fans to show off designs inspired by her."

Fun Fact: Fans in North America have previously declared January 29th as "National Lady Gaga Day", although the government here hasn't made it official.

Lady Gaga encourages tourists to visit Japan

The American singer Lady Gaga, found in Japan to participate in a benefit concert, has encouraged tourists to visit this country after the earthquake and tsunami that devastated the country past Japan 11 March.

“I would use my position to tour Tokyo and enjoy the beautiful city and scream at the top of my lungs that everyone should visit this beautiful place”, the pop superstar said in a press conference, in which he appeared, drinking from a cup that said “Prayers for Japan”.

The pop diva has helped raise funds for victims of this disaster, contributing a song to a charity album with a message for a shirt that will go on sale this week.

Visibly moved, Lady Gaga received a letter of gratitude from the Japanese Government. Hiroshi Mizohata, head of the Japan Tourism Agency, gave her a small doll that symbolizes perseverance and courage.

“Never surrender, standing at the end. This is a traditional Japanese doll for you. This is Fukushima”, said an excited Mizohata, noting that the doll came from Fukushima Prefecture, where a nuclear plant has caused a crisis shattered atomic.

Lady Gaga responded with a kiss on her cheek. “I'm happy”, he said. Although there was speculation that Lady Gaga visit the devastated region of northeastern Japan after the MTV benefit concert on Saturday, Star avoided making specific promises.

Lady Gaga Wants Next Career To Be In "Fashion Designs"

Lady Gaga wants to work in fashion when she is finished with music.

The 25-year-old singer — who is known for love of eccentric clothing, including a dress made of meat and one outfit of Kermit the Frog puppets — has a great relationship with people in the fashion world and will one day create her own line of clothes, but not until she is bored with songwriting.

Speaking backstage at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, she said: "I really, really have such admiration for fashion designers and I'm such good friends with them.

    "I'd love a fashion line when I stop making music for a while, for a year. But that's not going to happen soon. I'm in love with songwriting right now."

The "Judas" hitmaker was recently named Fashion Icon at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards, and she said at the event in New York she hoped young people would enjoy the prize as much as she would.

    She said: "All of you made me feel like a star before I was. As much as this award means to me personally, I just want you to know how much this means to young Americans."
