When Rolling
Stone used its complicated maths to declare that Lady Gaga was the new Queen of
Pop, we thought we should check that by you guys.
The response
was incredible. We counted an astonishing 177,380 votes
in our exclusive
Digital Spy poll, with a stunning 43.9%
(77,847) being enough for Mother Monster Ms Lady GaGa to hold on to
that newly-granted crown.
It was pretty tight, though! A tantalisingly close 43.5%
(77,144) of you agreed
with pop tart Ke$ha and gave your support to the Legendary Miss Britney Spears.
That was just 703 fewer than Lady GaGa managed!
The lead flipped and flopped between the two over the past six days, but Lady GaGa just managed to pull ahead in the final minutes before the polls closed.
The domination of megafans from the Britney and GaGa camps meant that our other pop princesses didn't get much of a look in. Your Glastonbury favourite Beyoncé came third and Christina Aguilera came fourth, just ahead of the first Queen of Pop, Madonna.
