Gaga is an activist, fighting for full equality and rights. Stonewall, a lesbian and gay advocacy UK group, has nominated Gaga for an award at their Stonewall Awards. Gaga is up for ‘Hero of the Year’ due to all her hard work in improving people’s lives in the LGBT community. Stonewall has recognised all of Gaga’s previous work done for the community.
Gaga has been nominated for her ambition to create a better world, where everyone has full equality, in particular for lesbian and gay people. The awards are open to all that have contributed to the fight for full equality. During Gaga’s massive rise to fame, the singer has been busy not only releasing music, but standing up for her beliefs. She has appeared at numerous marches and also campaigned to get ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ repealed (which succeeded) and for Gay marriage to be legalised in New York City. In her songs, she writes about loving yourself, loving your identity, and encouraging all of her fans to realise they were Born This Way.
the Stonewall Awards take place in London on November 3rd, but nothing has been announced of Lady Gaga attending the award ceremony.
