Bette Midler Wants Lady Gaga To Buy Her Old Clothes

Looks like Mama Monster might get some hand-me-downs. Bette Midler accused Lady Gaga  of stealing her mermaid in a wheelchair act back in July, in what was perhaps the most surreally fabulous twitter flame war of all time. But now the oh-so-divine Miss M wants Gaga to buy her original mermaid costume, as well as other items in her wardrobe. “I think she should go for a real wheelchair and a real fishtail because these are really beautiful,” she told the Associated Press. Midler is putting her famous outfits up for auction on November 12th to raise money for her charity, The New York Restoration Project, which funds the building of public parks and recreation areas.

The auction will feature costumes spanning her entire 45-year career. While we’re sure she won’t have any trouble finding bidders, Bette is hoping for one in particular. “I’m waiting for Gaga to get in there and grab hers,” she admits. “I would be thrilled. I hope she buys at least a little bit. It would be fun. There are so many wonderful ideas and so much of it. So much of it is so funny.” Apparently the whatever wounds existed between the two have been healed long ago. “If she is interested, she can have whatever she wants because she is a very talented girl and I love her a lot.”
