After recording “Lady Is a Tramp” for Tony Bennett’s latest album, January 2012 cover girl Lady Gaga posed for Bennett and for V.F. contributing photographer Annie Leibovitz; the resulting portrait and photograph can be seen exclusively in the magazine. But if you’d like to own those two items, bid on them starting today (8 a.m. E.S.T./11 a.m. P.S.T.) at eBay.com/celebrity. The auction goes until Monday, December 19, and will include the following:
- The original portrait of Lady Gaga by Tony Bennett (18 in. by 24 in., charcoal on paper), signed by Tony Bennett under his given name “Benedetto,” which he uses to sign his original artwork.
- Accessories Lady Gaga wore during the Vanity Fair shoot, including Mercura sunglasses, House of Lavande earrings, an Alexis Bittar ring, and a pair of Brian Atwood heels.
- Original print of Lady Gaga’s cover photograph, autographed by Annie Leibovitz.
- A poster of the cover of Vanity Fair’s January 2012 issue, signed by Lady Gaga.
- A first-edition copy of the book Lady Gaga x Terry Richardson, featuring more than 350 photos of the singer, with a limited-edition poster signed by both Lady Gaga and Terry Richardson.
- A personalized autographed copy of the book Tony Bennett in the Studio, featuring images of Tony’s artwork and an exclusive CD.
- Limited-edition print of Tony Bennett’s watercolor Gondola, Venice.
- Top-quality oil and acrylic brushes in a case signed by Tony Bennett.
All proceeds from the auction items will benefit Exploring the Arts (ETA) and the Born This Way Foundation. ETA is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999 by Tony Bennett and his wife, Susan Benedetto, and aims to strengthen the role of arts in public high-school education. The Born This Way Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Lady Gaga in partnership with the MacArthur Foundation and Harvard University, and focuses on youth empowerment through self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring, and career development.
